Caring for your Coconut Bowl
Your Coconut bowl and its accessories are 100% plant based, hand polished with coconut oil and like all natural products, will need some special care.
But don't worry, it's not hard.
Here's a few tips.
- Only hand-wash in warm soapy water (normal dishwashing detergent is fine).
- Do NOT put your bowl or accessories in the dishwasher or leave soaking in water for a long time.
- Do NOT place your bowl in the fridge, freezer, microwave or conventional oven.
- Your bowl is suitable for either hot or cold food but sudden changes in temperature can affect the bowl. Rinse first with either warm or cool water to reduce the risk of damage.
Polished Finish Bowls
- The shine on your polished bowl and spoon may fade after several uses, so polishing them with Virgin Coconut Oil or Coconut Wood Wax will restore their natural lustre.
Natural Finish Bowls
- Do NOT put coconut oil (or any other oil) or wax on a bowl with a raw/natural finish. It will soak into the porous/raw finish and darken the colour dramatically.
- Simply wash the bowl and dry with a towel and then allow to dry.
- You may polish the inside of the bowl with oil, being careful not to get it on the outside.
